Graduation Ceremony
Graduation Ceremony
Twice a year the Office of Doctoral Affairs organizes a Graduation ceremony in the Lange Gasse in the H5 and in the foyer of the new building.
Due to the different sizes of the graduation dates (PST), the first and second PST will be merged for the graduation ceremony in summer. For the third PST there will be the second graduation ceremony in winter, so that the number of participants of each graduation ceremony is about the same.
Every doctoral candidate from the last PST receives an invitation to the ceremony. It does not matter whether the dissertation has already been published or not. At the ceremony you will not be presented with the doctoral certificate, but with a certificate confirming that you have passed the doctoral procedure. For the doctoral certificate you must first publish your dissertation. In addition to the individual presentation of the certificates, the doctoral awards of the School are also presented at the graduation ceremony.
Approximately five weeks before the graduation ceremony we send out the invitations and approximately three weeks before the ceremony we ask for your size for the gown and beret. From your side there is nothing else to do for the ceremony. You can see an exemplary process here. For further impressions you can have a look at the pictures of the last graduation ceremonies.
Enjoy an afternoon dedicated to your completed doctorate with your family, a keynote speech followed by a champagne reception.
